Meles claims Ethiopia is Orthodox Christian

This is an absolute shocker even for gaffe prone Meles. On the Guardian he said this:

Meles also repeated claims that Qatar and other un-named Arab Sunni Muslim states were financing Eritrea's covert operations against Orthodox Christian Ethiopia.

Was he misquoted? Misrepresented? Or misinterpreted? Orthodox Christian Ethiopia? When did we hear this the last time?

I think Meles was misquoted right there. This is not the first time when a western media tries to portray Ethiopia as a land of Christians only.

Do not split hair. Clearly, the reporter used the term 'Orthodox Ethiopia' not Meles. I do not like EPRDF but, most of all, I do not like devisive people like you who split hair to misinform innocent minds. It is better if you do not write anything than write such a nonsense thing.

Well! he might use it for his coming political campaign but his shouting against certain muslims arab states must be understood.
He knows them very well. He has been working with them during his previous menage to take power in Ethiopia.
God , save Ethiopia !!

Zenawi is clearly playing a religous card. When everything fails try another trick. He is appealing to the west that "Christian Ethiopia" is under attack from the "unnamed sunni muslim states" according to the article. He even mentioned Qatar but didn't mention the others for some reason. Zenawi is really worried about the spill over effect from Kenya. He is warning the west that whatever action they are going to take in kenya, will affect his fate drastically.

Meles can say this to get assistance from his lords and the interviewer paraphrase it to use the dog in the way they desire!!!!

With all due respect, your assertion about the "CLAIMS" of Meles is downright wrong.

Needless to say, Islamic states that are keen on sponsoring rogue regimes do not target Muslim people, unless they are too moderate or come from a different sect. As there is Muslim Ethiopia, there is also Christian Ethiopia. But, as always, the whole is more than the constituting parts.

Please show a great deal of sensitivity to the possible far-reaching repercussions of making such unwarranted and bold interpretations.

EZ,

with my due respect, I should tell you that your fingers started typing some ugly words like: 'Was he misquoted? Misrepresented? Or misinterpreted? Orthodox Christian Ethiopia? When did we hear this the last time?'. Do not go that way. Stop and keep to be good as you used to be.
