Government moves to cover up political murder

Unknown agents ordered the family of the murdered young Kinijit activist, Wondwossen Gutu, by a federal police member on Sunday not to give evidence about the killing to another group or people. After taking Wondwossen's photos and some of his personal belongings from his home yesterday, these agents told family members that giving evidence about the murder would harm them; close friends of the family told this blogger.
Wondwossen Gutu(pic), 16, joined Kinijit as a fresh high school student during the election time; actively distributing the party's manifesto and messages among students. After the imprisonment of the leaders of the party, Wondwossen joined the Tegbar League activists. He was organizing protests and boycott of exams in his school, Medihanealem. In the beginning of September, he was spotted distributing the civil disobedience calendar which called for the release of Kinijit's leaders. Friends said that he had managed to escape from federal police members who were looking for him several times. On Sunday, a policeman shot dead Wondwossen while he was returning to his house after watching a football game in a nearby sports cafe.
Yesterday, TPLF's mouthpiece, The Reporter, tried to cover up the political murder. It claimed that the policeman shot Wondwossen because he was acting as a suspect and had some disagreement with him. Quoting the notorious Kinijit hater and torturer, Commander Girma Kassa, Head of Addis Ababa Police Commission's Criminal Investigation Bureau, the paper reported that the policeman was arrested. One of Wondwossen's friends contacted by this blogger said that the policeman was a federal police member who had failed to capture the young activist in previous attempts; and not the city's police officer as stated by The Reporter

TPLF WOYANE BANDITS will pay for the deaths and all the agony they put the Ethiopian people. I assure you all, the young man killed in the hands of the TPLF AGAZI force will be avenged. TPLF supporters will swallow the same if not more grief come tomorrow upon uplifting their base and flip it upside down. It won't be fun for TPLF WOYANE supporters, If I was one I would be preparing a way out for me and for my family while I have the chance.

That is all I can advice you. Time has come when we have to avange our loss, SANGRE-for-SANGRE! The old testament says, an eye for an eye. It also says a man that killed shall not be allowed to live. We will have to translate the good book on the ground in Ethiopia. Especially, the enemy is a sinister enemy; it will be sanctioned by God that whosoever eliminated a sinister enemy shall have an everlasting life in the kingdom of God.

Hi there,
I just can't understand what sort of measure could satisfy you. What else could you expect than the arrest of the offender. He should appear before adjudicator and tried according to the law of the land.Did you expect the right on the spot shooting of the suspect. The you would have said, look how the government does not give the accussed a chance to proof him self unguilty. I find you with no stand at all. The move should be praised and let us wait for the verdict. Then we may have to comment if he did not recieve proper punishment, after found guilty by the court.

wish you wisdom of thinking positively,
Simon,

That's rubbish. The killer should have given the innocent victim a chance to prove himself unguilty then, instead of shooting him on the spot. And imagine he is a student, his deadly weapons -- pen and pencil!

This is a henious crime and can never be justified at all.

May God rest him in peace, and my sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

Take care.

Come on guys ..the situation back home is uglier than what you think . The WOYANE government has become a full blown dictatorship.
The killing of this kid is intentional and done porposely to scare other young Eithiopians from taking part in the struggle.
I would not have imagined trying to do any of the things this young fellow has been doing back home...taking the circumstaces at the ground.
So my fellow country men ...an eye for an eye ..this is the time for action .I know what happenes in such cases ..they(WOYANE) will either relocate the police officer or they will dispose him themselves ..if he is not a reiliable type.
But the ones in the middle!!!
Their actions are more damaging than the real enemy.
May God give his family the stregth.

IF THE AUTHORITIES REALLY TREATHENED THE FAMILY DOESN'T YOUR RELEASING THIS INFORMATION ENDANGERS THE FAMILY? YOU SEEM TO BELIEVE THE DANGER TO THE FAMILY AND YET REPORT THE INCIDENT. DOES THAT MEAN YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THE EFFECT OF YOUR STORIES ON OTHERS? OR IS IT THAT YOU KNOW NOTHING HAPPENS TO THEM IN WHICH CASE YOUR STORIES WON'T BE CREDIBLE? WHICH IS IT? IN BOTH CASES YOU ARE UNPROFESSIONALS!!!
