Good Cop, Bad Cop

(by Ethio-Zagol)
After getting its journalists released, the NY Times had this to say about the arrest.
We would like to thank Ambassador Yamamoto and his colleagues at the
American Embassy in Addis Ababa, and Prime Minister Meles for their help in
freeing them.

Honestly, this statement is so silly that it is laughable. The Ethiopian army doesn't operate without the authorization of the PM in cases which have international implications. Meles arrests...Meles kicks...and Meles releases. That, at least, is our folklore.

"Times" have chnged, haven't they? Now, we read NY times placating a chief tyrant, instead of exposing him. What a farce. NY times knows where the orders came, so does the US embassy. Who do you think they negotiated with - some rebelling field commander in the ogadens? I don't think so.

EZ,
You are right. The woyane militia can't hold NYT journalists for 5 long days without the knowledge of this frick and the NYT people sound dumb. But expect something big in the coming few weeks.

EZ, I am sure NY Times is pressured to release this statement. I don't think NY editors are unaware of Meles's monster/evil acts. Who knows there could have been a deal - Yamooto negotiates their release and then NY praises him and the moster afterwards! Make no mistake Yamooto is running Ethiopia from his embassy premises.

Selam all
The statement is a formal diplomatic statement which basically means nothing. It is now up to the NYT reporter to even go further and talk about the ordeal he went through and what he saw in Ogadden.
I am looking forward to his reports.
Take care
