Breaking News:Professor Mesfin in hospital

The founding father of the Kinijit movement and its most authoritative moral leader, Professor Mesfin Woldemariam, was raced to hospital by emergency ambulance last night after he collapsed suddenly in his cell. This ardent exponent of the Ghandi style non-violent movement was put in intensive care unit. Sources at the Police Hospital where other jailed Kinijit leaders including Eng. hailu Shawel are undergoing treatment confirmed professor Mesfin's health problems. It was learnt that his condition has shown improvement since he was hopitalized.
(More to come)

I wish him a faster recovery. He is even very strong to handle the harsh treatement of EPDRF. May Fetari heal his pain and give him a strength to see the seed he planted for Ethiopian freedomto be a fully grown fruit.

With respect and admire

EZ
Apart from the Prof. there are thousand of Ethiopians being affected by the floods. Many died and many lost their livelyhood.
No one of the so called "pro-democracy" webs in the diaspora are reporting on that issue.
Nothing to moblilize help!
Ethiopia is not just all about CUD, there are other pressing issues.
At least mention something about that.
Reporting on the health of 75 year old at this time when many are in a crisis does not make sense.

You can visit BBC web page to read about the flood damage in Ethiopia! No need to repeat information largely published on the international media outlet on this blog!!!

Woyane receives billons of dollars in the name of Ethiopian poor!! Rather than transferring the money to London and Malaysia banks they could have helped those displaced peoples!!! Don't you know that Woyane pays 50k$/month for a lobbing firm in USA??? 20k$ for spying the Diaspora???

I overhead him say, some time ago, that he is done and now wants to see the younger generation to take over. He never gave up and at all and that is why he is still suffering in jail. But we need to pause and reflect on the lives of such precious folks God has bestowed Ethiopia with.

May the Grace of God meet him in the circumstances he finds himself.

My prayer is with those that are suffering.

God bless all!

Anonymous above said:.."But really, the man is 150 years old. I mean, He ain't Moses, so stuff can stop functioning here and there. It has nothing to do with the regime." It seems that he/she hasn't heard of people living longer these days - and I don't mean those incarcerated in such odious conditions. He/she should try getting into Kaliti for several months and see how his health condition is fairing.
What is surprising is the silence of the International Community who know about the prison conditions (rats, roaches, bugs and crammed conditions)are keeping mum - especially the likes of Vicky and Timothy Clarke. She enjoys going back and forth to Kaliti to see their condition.
Another anonymous said that pro-democracy websites are not reporting on those who lost their lives and livelihood because of the floods. I don't know which websites he/she is referring to. Obviously he/she has not looked at ethiomedia.com,ethioforum.org, etc. If he/she is referring to ethiopian review, ER is busy attacking Kinijit NA, so it does not have the time or space to write about the flood situation.

To the Above, you did say rats, roaches, bugs and crammed conditions. Well, you just described a typical County jail in many of the cities in the U.S.A. I am also glad that we have come to a point in Ethiopian history when our complaints about Political prisoners is about rats and roaches. It shows tremendous progress. The Ethiopian government should first take care of the Flood victims in Dire Dawa and Omo, then, deal with the rats and roaches in the Prisons. In fact, the Ethiopian government should deal with severe malnutrition, aids, education, health care, e.t.c.., then, deal with Rats and bloody roaches in Jail. You never cease to amaze me.

To anonymous above:

Now that the ‘Fat Lady’ has started singing for EPRDF, Ethiopians themselves will deal with the TPLF rats and roaches. ‘Lehulum Gize Alew’.

Ethiopia will survive TPLF roaches!

To those TPLF parasites lamenting about our flood stricken brothers and sisters (Azagn Qibe Anguach):

If you think war and natural disaster will be a God sent opportunity for EPRDF to capitalize on, you are gravely mistaken. From now on, Ethiopians will never ever stand shoulder to shoulder with EPRDF, no matter what happens. Get over it and start packing. We still haven’t forgotten what happened to our good will gesture and outreach in 1998.

Ethiopia will survive TPLF parasites!

Now EPRDF is in a great danger. They MUST know that the Ethiopian people can't afford seeing professor Mesfin treated in such inhumane way. It is in our blood to respect elderly and to honour the true children of Ethiopia. The professor deserves throne not thorn!!!

I would suggest Most of Well Thought Reader of this Blog to visit WWW.addisvoce.com Must listen interview.

Ato Andargachew Tsigie is a member of Kinijit's executive council and the party's newly appointed international leadership. Addis Voice interviewed Ato Andargachew on range of issues including his political experience, ethnic politics, Dr Berhanu Nega's new book, his once closer relationship with the ruling elite and his personal advice to Meles Zenawi, who was his school friend.

The tplf anonymous above said "Well, you just described a typical County jail in many of the cities in the U.S.A. I am also glad that we have come to a point in Ethiopian history when our complaints about Political prisoners is about rats and roaches. It shows tremendous progress." As he seems to know about US jails, he must have been inside one of them or else he is referring to the pests in his own home. Furthermore, he seems to be oblivious of the continuous protests with regard to the unjust incarceration of the political prisoners, but is proud of the "tremendous progress" in Ethiopian history because Ethiopian jails are equal to US jails in possessing such assets.
My earlier comment was actually in response to the anonymous who implied that the regime was not responsible for Prof. Mesfin's illness.
As we know it, the Ethiopian government will ask and get funds from donors to help the flood victims and will pretend as if it is helping the victims, and then siphon the funds away to its various accounts abroad.
May God bless and protect Prof. Mesfin.
