SOS: Cry of help from brothers in torture chamber

Federal police in Ethiopia has intensified its torture on prisoners who are accused of cooperating with Ethiopian patriots' front to overthrow the government with force. The prisoners were rounded up from different parts of the country in December 2006.

After Amnesty International's report exposed that some of these prisoners had been tortured at Maekelawi prison, they were transferred to Kirkos Sub-city jail in Kera. The torture has since been intensified even more.

Police sources said that some of the prisoners have been subject to prolonged period of torture. Foot whipping is the most often used technique of torture against the prisoners.

Action alert:

We need to save our brothers from the brutality they are facing.

- Please write letters to International Human rights organizations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch and inform them about what is happening.

Thank you EZ! Please also provide us on a regular basis updates on campaigns by AI and others regarding unjustly imprisoned people in Ethiopia, so that we can underwrite their already existing efforts, and so that we can draw their attention to cases they are not yet working on.

honey,
EZ is the untouchable.

Hi ethiounited moderator,

thanks for the reply. I am not clear on what you said. Does this mean it is impossible to get in touch? I was just going to discuss that maybe it is better not to lable prisoners as this and that party, they are innocent about everything until proven guilty. Labeling them as this and that party will lead to means you are sure what party they are in and they should not be labeled as part any party. They are innocent Ethiopians who are just suspected.

honey,
You don't need to get in touch with EZ in order to discuss issues that you are uncomfortable with.
I am attempting to let you know that there are a lot of bad and good people who want to get in touch with EZ.
As far as I am concerned, it is a simple sentence "EZ is the untouchable" I used... to stop you from requesting too much information from EZ so that he remains safe until we find our freedom for our beloved country.
We will get in touch with EZ when Ethiopia is free...imagine how preciously I look upto him/her deep in my heart.

I had a feeling that is the reason, obviously. Of course, I understand if you can convey my previous message to her/him, that'll be great. Peace and freedom for Ethiopia!!
