Will Meles release the prisoners?

I may eat my words later. My sources are telling me Meles could give clemency for the prisoners tonight. It isn't yet confirmed, and I don't trust Meles. But that is the news I am getting right now.
I am hearing that the case has been sent to the Amnesty Board. Again, I advise caution. Take this story with a pinch of salt.

Please stop your prediction. U are just serving the tyrant. Our leaders are banned from politics and that is what matters most. We all know that Melles would give his clemancy for his own sake. U are sounding like Melles apologist at the state departmen. He will tell tell us that "Atleast we should be happy that Melles didn't kill them all"

We (Ethiopians) expect only bad news from Melse

Part of the concern at this point could also be in the opportunity to open doors for attacks on civilians by anti-Ethiopian elements. The spring 2006 bomb blasts in Addis and there after in some places in Ethiopia left civilian Ethiopians victims. The politics that comes after, is the blame game. The more loss of civilian lives, the more divisive and oppressive the situation can get, and create animosity among Ethiopians.

In consideration of the above, other factors and the fact that the “trial” and judiciary has been what it is, the point we are at is to revisit the potential and out come of the mediation. EZ might soon return back to “Will Prof. Ephrem Issac please speak up”. If not the angry public’s comments, we definitely look forward for the mediator to speak up.

EZ,

I thank you very much for all what you are doing.

Meles has to release these innocent people one way or the other. It is not only face saving rather life saving for him as well.
The issue is we have become so stupid that a powerful stupid is baiting us to his mercy and submission. When are we going to say enough is enough if ever?

Girma.

I will be delighted to see them out, no matter what. it is going to be a huge releif specially for thier immediate family member. But for us it is still the same game. A tyrant who is ready to kill and maim to stay in power is still at 4 kilo with even more consolidated power than ever before. The verdict and the sentence has formally criminalized decent. The legislative and judiciary power is under his full control. As ususal he can not be trusted, but what the hell he can not do it any worse than this. So I would not mind if they once makes to swallow your words back.
Thanks for your service.

Meles Zenawi,
Why you keep deciding following wrong way and keep implementing your evil plan on our country. I remember when you caught a bible at the illegal parliament session by saying there is a time for everything. This is a crucial time for Ethiopia. We all expect one right decision from you. Why don't you go back see our past history and try to learn from it. For the last seventeen years you stayed in power by eliminating most of your oppositions from the game. When the mighty God says enough is enough your game will come to the end. My advice for you is that release all the leaders of CUD and other opposition leaders with out any pre-condition. We all know that EPRDF did the treason act not CUD leaders. The time has come for you to take the right decision before it is to late.

Meles may release the leaders only if he can make sure they will not be a political challgenge to him.

He may go through the pardon song and dance to appear magnanimous, in the end, however he is engaged in criminal activity against a legitimate political opposition.

I believe the path for peaceful struggle has been closed shut. Ethiopians who mean business need to explore getting rid of Meles gang. To do so, an alliance with Eritrea should not be precluded.

If the Eritreans were good enough to bring the TPLF to power, they should be good enough for the opposition as well.

Gebru from Awassa
PLEASE STOP IT

We do not need any more delay tactics from anybody letalone the killer blood sucker Meles and his gangs. WE ARE READY FOR A BIG SURPRISE. The world will witnnes what realy ETHIOPIANS are. NO more begging and the new year yes the new year is coming with something. Wait and see. Arios.

`
Of-course! Meles will release the elected CUDP leaders it was a staged verdict, the whole thing is done with careful analysis in Meles' kitchen table. Congressman (D) Dnald Payne is waiting for Meles to pardon the elected CUDP leaders who are in jail for winning the election. As soon as Cong. Payne post poned the release of HR2003 from July-9 to July-13, then July-18, it tells you that the Americans are as much involved in killing mother Ethiopia.

selamat,

what exactly is amnesity board? How long has it been active?

There are many things that Melese and Co are guilty of, but its amazing to me how we never see any one wanting these matters resolved wether we agree with the issue or not.

In my opinion CUD made some huge mistakes, and Melese and company have admitted there errors. Lets move on! Instead of accusing every move that Melese does to his benefit. So what if it is? Its called loyalty to your party. Its happening here in USA....so spare me.

Instead wish that he does the right thing a frees those in jail free and call it what it is: a good deed. Those who are in jail are patriots. I bet half of the readers are going to say I am a Melese supporter and dont see the big picture. not true. I want to see a fair system, but i know that it takes generations to perfect something. I am glad the system is in place and Melese has done that. More schools, hospitals, roads, election process,,,,the list goes on and on.

WHEN WILL YOU ALL LEARN TO REASON INTELLEIGENTLY?

COURT HANDED DOWN A DECISION. WHETHER WE LIKE IT OR NOT HAS NO RELEVANCE HERE. WHAT MATTERS IS THE PROCESS AND THE INSTITUTION. THERE IS A PROCESS WHEREBY SENTENCED INDIVIDUALS COULD APPEAL FOR CLEMANCY. THAT IS WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW.

WHAT WOULD THE BOARD RECOMMEND? I DON'T KNOW BUT IN ALL LIEKLYHOOD GIVEN THE NAURE OF THE CRIME, THAT IS, ALLEGEDLY COMMITTED IN THE POLITICAL ARENA, IT MAY RECOMMEND FULL PARDON AS A GOOD WILL GESTURE OR REDUCED THE SENTENCE TO FEW YEARS. SO, WE SHOULD JUST WAIT AND SEE.

Ethio-Zegol is a Woyane! First how is he getting all this inside information? Second he is already telling us to trust a die hard Woyane Seye as a healer. Ethio Zegol is just a differnt face of Woyane, planted to make us belive there is democracy in Ethiopia. Ethio-Zegol is WOYANE!

Anonymous said...

the 12:39 message comes from the silly guy. It doesn't matter Ethio Zagol is woyane or not as long as he is planning for common good of Ethiopia. Suggesting Seye a healer, i can't see any thing wrong with that. Mr hailu Shwel was once worked for Dergue but he has changed since then. What we all would like to see is poitics with a respect of our difference. I think most of Ethiozagol users will suport me on my idea,

Hay EZ why are you so confused? What is your stand ? Does it realy matter ...they are "legally" banned from politics and you know what that means ..Woyane can put them in gail upon their disposal as long as they are in the country ..for real ethiopians the take home message from today court decsion is that woyane is detemined to keep on rulling and continue their hegmony ..and the only solution is to kick them out of power ..back to the place they come if at all so don't try to paint the tyrants a good image ...these guys are martyrs for better ethiopia ...take it like that

Anonymous said...

sewyew,
no jail is big enough for kinijt and, you can't jail the country because, kinijt is the will of the pepole. the woyane's eye is bigger than his mouth and it wont be long before it chokes on it. Kinijet now and forever. no jail can keep it and no nation could stop it.the beginig of the end is near.may god protect wobit ETHIOPIA.

Dear friends,

Take this for granted, it is a great lesson for us all. Woyanes do not give power by peacefull means. The reason is 90% of them are below six grade, the only business they know is war. That is their livelihood. They snatch the money for bread and for HIV patients and put it in their own account. They are now eating 'magna' teff. They hire and fire what they like. They kill innocent and children. No one can ask them. So, how could you expect these guys to give power? If they realized that they are losing power, the first thing they do is they divided the country and ignit war between Ethiopians. Don't under estimate them, they are the worest evil mined persons on earth. The only solution through military means. That helps not only to remove them but also to rescue the country from regional divid. So, get ready prepare yourself. We are the one who save our country from these evils.
The Bush adminstration already choose the tyrannt regime than the 77 million Ethiopians. The American Embassy in Addis and the Americans who come to Ethiopia are protected not by Meles and his stone head agazies but by poor and hospitable Ethiopians. On one side they pretend as if they are torch bearer of democracy, on the other side they spile the blood of innocent people and put on us pupet government who have no mind only belly.

Anonymous said...

I like the above anonym (3:38)

The solution is to remove TPLF by all means necessary and replace it with AFD (Alliance for Fredom dn Democracy) OLF, EPPF, TPDM, SNLF, CUD and ONLF are members of that organization. They can save the country from total collapse and ethnic division. TPLF MUST GO AND BE REPLACED BY AFD, if we want the country to go on as one Ethiopia.

I read all crap you all write, but my bigest concern is how a simple family can raise a kid with out all this buli$hit.

When can we talk about self improvement and contribution to our county to prosperity. How long can we live like this?

Wendem alemoche, ' guadeghahe sitama lene blehe sima'. What goes around comes around!

What you do for others today would be worst for you romorrow.

Ofa! Let me go and send what I can afford to family today. I am sick of this and all I care is do what I can be a hero to my family.

I think there is some confusion here! there will be no amnesty or amnesty board in Ethiopia. What they can get is just a pardon or clemency. I think readers need to know the difference between pardon and amnesty. If they were to be granted amnesty, that would bring them back to innocence and the can pursue their political life as well. But what they are getting here is just pardon. EZ ..you have to make that distinction

Please stop writing unconfirmed report about the release of opposition leaders and confusing your readers! Rememeber it was mentioned on this site that they were about to be released in a matter of days, but now jailed for life. So stop confusing us. EPRDF is not going to do this in its life time.'A fly won't make honey!'

a fly won't make honey. nice proverb. funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnny.
