Meles ready to sentence CUD leaders

last gasp mediation efforts have failed as the convicted CUD leaders rejected Meles' proposal that they be our before the sentencing by admitting that they have made mistakes. According to sources, Meles had said that his "compromise" proposal was a "take it or leave it."
The prisoners have decided to leave it and face the consequences. The crime they were convicted of carries death penalty or a mandatory rigorous imprisonment.

Hey guys heard yesterday on Tenesay radio news. "some western diplomats in Addis Abeba are planning to hold a meeting with this rat (melese) regarding our leaders court conviction. We need some of our Ethiopians from North America CUD Support groups to write letter campagin to Some of European and Africans government, like South African government. As you heard, Since last week the Zimbaboe government holding a meeting with his own opposition party MDC in South Africa. We shoud get a South African Government to help us a meeting between Woyane and AFD. It just a suggestion.

I know you will not post this on your website, but for what it worth, here is my two cents. What is wrong with admitting "Mistakes"? CUD is not an angle, and has made Mistakes. IF EPRDF/TPLF is admitting that it made MISTAKES why is it hard for the CUD leaders to accept they have made Mistakes too? On Eng. Gizachew's letter he implicitly accept some mistakes on CUD's part and offer to make the new Millinum about learning from the past "Mistakes" and creating a better future, so SO WHY CUD leaders refuse to accept their Mistake and usher us to a new Millinum that is peacefull? My understanding is EPRDF/TPLF is willing to admit its mistakes, including the shootings of Protestors, and imprisioning of people, why couldn't CUD leaders admit their mistake in calling for Ostersization (which was loaded as ethnic allination) of EPRDF/TPLF supporters from Eder and Wedding creating more anomisty in Ethiopia? I am real sad with the stubborn attitude displayed with the CUD leaders. GOD help us Ethiopians. I don't we have seen the worst yet.

The properly elected CUDP leaders MUST stand their ground. Put the pressure on Meles until he breaks and admits. He knows well sentencing these innocent leaders is a receipe for further deterioration of the already rocking power held by strings. We know he is cracking, he brought the game to thus far and let's how far he is willing to take it. The leaders are legal and Meles and his thieve friends are illegal. Don't worry CUDP leaders there will be compensated at the end of the day, just stay your grounds and make this monkey face mosquito accept full responsibility.

Meles personally ordered the murder of 200 youth, he cannot wrap it against the CUDP leaders for what he has done. They never killed anyone, he ordered the killing of the youth whose death has yet to be aknowledged by the guilty party. His own house dog judges told him he was responsible and he must pay the price for the MURDERING OF 200 YOUTH as well as imprisoning 50,000 for years for no apparent reason. Out of the 50,000 between 5%-7% are said to have died because of the dredful condition in the prison they were packed.

Many more have lost their mind due to torture, fear, and hunger they were exposed to by the cruel TPLF Para Comando (AGAZI Military) security forces. Many families are still unaware the whereabouts of many thousands youth who were picked up after the rigged election confrontation with the public.

THE NEW ETHIOPIAN INTIFADA WILL CONTINUE WITH GREATER ACTION THIS TIME ROUND

Kinijit leaders must stay firm. Admitting "mistake" is a gross mistake that will take the Ethiopian people struggle many years back. Also the regime is trying to assasinate thier political future.

This was the attitude of most of the people in 2005,2006,and now.. We are told day in day out that Meles is on the verge of losing his power, but yet he is here for the last 16 years. YES 16 YEARS. We have to accept the fact Meles and his party is not going away anytime soon, instead of giving ourself a mental cushion with false hope of "rocking power held by strings" we need to deal with the realities at hand. CUD leaders must also show some willinginess to compermise and responsbility, and lead us from this Tatbo Cheka attiude. If Meles/EPRDF/TPLF is accepting their mistake then there is ABSLOUTLY NOTHING WRONG with CUD ACCEPTING MISTAKES! IF EPRDF/TPLF is accepting the fact that its forces HAVE KILLED PROTESTORS AND IT IS EPRDF/TPLF MISTAKES THEN CUD should do the same thing about its MISTAKES. We should push our leaders to Conflict Transformation

Is standing for a peaceful struggle a crime, Mr. dekemegne? You appear to believe that the CUD leaders have committed crime. Did Melese Admit that he has stolen the ballots of the people? I am intrigued by your comment.

dekemegn aka aigaforum. According to your logic Melles is not going away from power anytime soon. You want Kinijit leaders to admit thier "mistakes" for Melles to get out of the mess and lead Ethiopia without any problem. Now Melles has found it very hard to lead due to his reckless decision to jail the leaders whose only crime was to win the election. Dream on. Kinijit leaders are very matured and they know all the plots.

Hey EZ the great,

Thanks for the update.

The above anon 8:00 am - for your info Ethiopiafirst is a pro Woyannie website who has been paid to mis-inform the public.

dekemgne posted 8:23 am - Why would the CUD leaders rescue Zenawi by admitting a mistake that has been done by him? Zenawi is dieing a slow death. We all want them to be released from Kaliti ASAP but not this way. This will kill our struggle and their sacrifice.

The ball is at Zenawi's court. He is doing all this to hang on to power. We will not let him do that.

-The CUD leaders must stop or suspend indefinately talking with Zenawi. Their pre-condition for talk should be their unconditional release.

-Once again The Western diplomats may be in a consipiracy to save Zenawi. If sincire the West have to put a pressure on Zenawi to release the CUD leaders unconditionaly. Anything less is unacceptable.

Zenawi is a dead man walking - he is trapped on his own doing.

Why circulating all these rumors? Think about it. Why would the government admitts that there is no rule of law by simply releasing the accused? Afterall, it is the government's position that there is a rule of law in Ethiopia. By the same token, why would the accused agreed to be free by admitting crime while they all along argued their detention is political. So, the way out for both sides is to go ahead with the proceedings and after that for the President to pardon them. Keep an eye on this. This is what will happen.

I know it's tough situation for the far sighted and seasoned leadership in Kaliti to stay in harsh Meles prison. But, they shouldn't admit any mistake because they didn't do any crime except exercising their right for peaceful protest against a stolen popular vote. So, I believe they are very intlegent people with truth and integrity that shoked the Meles/TPLF minority tribalist government without using any violence and gun. But for Meles/TPLF's this a cheap strategy treating such matured and intelegent people as 4 year kid to crash their spirit and to kill the popular peaceful movment against Tyranny, poverity, begging, Prostitution, ethnic division and hate. So, they need to stand firm on their strong leadrship.

If they are released by conceding to Zenawi's effort to hide the truth - then I don't think it is a good day for our struggle.

Mandela was offered to be released from prison by the Aparthied government of South Africa several times - but decline the offer so many times because the struggle and the freedom of his people comes first.

That is what the CUD leaders should do.

Anonymous said...

Anynymous...

Mandela was NEVER EVER OFFERED TO BE RELEASED FROM PRISION.

To Others..

Don't fall to the propoganda of Shabias who are wearing CUD cloth and want our leaders to suffer in prision. No sane CUD supporters want our leaders to suffer in the TPLF prison so they can become like Mandela. Their family wants them out. They want out. And we Ethiopians want THEM OUT. If the agreement is TRUE, then it is a time to celebrate.

MANDELLA has been in jail for 27 long and tortures years. 15 YEARS in into his illegal arrest the WHITE APARTHIED REGIME offered him a deal: to release him for an exchange that he NOT participate in future politics he stood tall and rejected the offer and sat in jail for another 12 years.

We have leaders like Mandella who taught us the strength and petience to stay focused, the CUDP LEADERS did nothing except they won the election. The murdered youth protested with anger and TPLF AGAZI SHARP SHOOTERS PRACTICED THEIR NEW LEARNED SHOOTING SKILLS WITH TOTAL IMPUNITY, INFACT ORDERED BY Meles Zenawi HIMSELF. All the supreme judges left the country when they were forced to lie.

The CUDP leaders are accused of MASS KILLING the 200 youth and upto 7% of the 50,000 illegally imprisoned innocent Real-Ethiopians. Many more have not returned to their families, no one knows what happens to them. TPLF refused to answer any question their where abouts, many farmers were also killed for crying out of mass grave in their farm plots. How can the CUDP leadership take all the responsibilities? WOYANNIE continue to milk the country to the bone using industrial level economic milking machines planed in every sector of the government. Who is going to take responsibility for all that? If I were one of the ILLEGALLY INCARCERATED CUDP LEADER I would not take any responsibility for all the killing and all the disappearance!!!

CUDP stay your ground, the 95% Real-Ethiopian people know that you all are innocent and you are being set up like Tamrat Lyne there is no reason for you to spoil your names with mad at the end of the moment. For CUDP admitance would mean to release TPLF from the responsibility, so as to allow them to stay in power doing what they do best, KILL MOTHER ETHIOPIA SLOWLY!!!

Don't listen to Dekemegn, he is either a TPLF CADRE sent to confuse gullible people or he is another evil who is worried that he is going to lose his untaxed business upon the fall of the regime. The days for the fall of the regime are numbered, further squeez will undoubtedly will bring it to the final moment.

Patriot,

So you want the CUD LEADERS TO BE IN JAIL FOR "27 long and tortures years" Is that what it makes a leader now days? These leaders are better serving ETHIOPIA ALIVE THAN DEAD, FREE THAN IMPRISONED. ANY WAY TO GET THEM OUT OF THAT MISREABLE JAIL SHOULD BE WELCOMED. Partriots and his friends are sitting in the comfort of their seat, are nothing but an Internet Jegna, these people let alone 2 YEARS in prision, they won't last two days in prision. BUT THEY WILL TELL OTHERS TO ROT in JAIL AS IF IT IS NOTHING!!!! NO WE WANT OUR LEADERS FREE, AND FREE NOW TOO!!! DON'T LISTEN TO INTERNET GURILLAS WHO DRING BEER AND EAT DONUGTHS. THEY DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT IT MEANS TO BE IN PRISION!!!!!!!!

Stop confusing people, We know what you people are made of. What you are saying would work three years ago, but after having to witness all the mass murder and sharp shooting practice by AGAZI SECURITY FORCES on innocent civilian people for staging a peaceful protest makes me suspect you are one of the guilty people who is worried his criminal action would be discussed in court. Since getting ready for the May 2005 national election I am not sure you can convince any Real-Ethiopian of what you are saying. Let alone a Real-Ethiopian you (Fake-Ethiopian) yourself do not believe in what you are saying.

The CUDP leadership spent two years in jail for a crime they do not know happened or who did it, now we have a couple more months before this TPLF Regime crumbles, why would they admit of guilt now close to the end of the regime's life span? We have an old saying in my country: "Aynega meloat qotua lie Shenatch" If you do not understand it have it translated by a Real-Ethiopian, what you are soying fits the proverb.

I don't believe the breaking news about our leaders on ethiopiafirst.com. I don't know the motives of Ben. The truth of the matter is Meles is not a kind of person who admits his mistakes (killings of hundreds and imprisoning of thousands) and release the leaders. I rather trust the news of EZ that Meles will keep asking the CUD leaders to take this reponsibility as an exchange for their release.

WE WANT OUR LEADERS FREE! AND NOW!!!! WE NEED TO PUT PRESSURE ON BOTH SIDES TO NEGOTIATE AND RELSOVE THIS STAND STILL FOR THE BENFIT OF ETHIOPIA! WE WILL NOT GAIN ANYTHING BY KEEPING OUR LEADERS IN JAIL, AND SUFFERING DAY IN DAY OUT. THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO WANT TO KEEP OUR ELECTED LEADERS IN PRISION ARE OUR ENEMIES WHO TO USE THEM FOR THEIR OWN POLITICAL END. IF THESE PEOPLE WHO WANT CUD LEADERS TO REMAIN IN JAIL GO TO KALITI AND JOIN THEM THEN I WILL SUPPORT THEM. BUT UNTIL THESE PEOPLE GIVE UP THEIR COMPUTER, LATTE AND COMFERTABLE LIFE IN THE WEST I DON'T TRUST THEM. THEY ARE ONLY INTERNET TIGERS WHO WANT TO SEE THE SUFFERING OF OUR LEADERS!!!! We have a lot of enemies. There are people who are working activly to keep the CUD leaders besides EPRDF/TPLF. Shabians, and anyone who doesn't want a peacefull Ethiopia wants the leaders to be in prision, so that we will continue to fight each other and destory our country. They will be more "holy than the pope" so to sepeak to drail any peacefull resloution to our problem. IF TPLF is willing to FREE them then, we SHOULD CELEBREATE. The CUD leaders should not compromise as they have NOT committed any crime. Meles Zenawi stole the electors vote, killed innocent protestors, tortured people, etc.

Meles Zenwi is on trial along with his TPLF cadres and not CUD. The day the verdict will be announced, it will be a verdict on Meles as well.

So sad that a black man who was seen in such a high regard by Western leaders fell from grace within two years!

Tegbar calls for blockade of roads in an act of civil disobedience to free elected leaders of Ethiopia
Posted Jun 20th, 2007

Tegbar Ethiopia
Press Release - June 21, 2007

Tegbar League’s executive committee in Addis Ababa today has called on the people of Ethiopia to rise up in unison for a nationwide civil disobedience to force the Woyanne dictatorship free our leaders.

The call is made to citizens through out the country to participate in the civil disobedience by blocking roads and major highways in the month of August unless the Woyanne dictatorship releases the legitimate representatives of the people of Ethiopia from jail.

It is the duty and obligation of a people to protect its legitimately elected leaders. In our case, we Ethiopians have allowed our leaders to languish in jail for over a year now. We must say no more.

Click here to read Tegbar’s statement in Amharic.

How can you tell a weyane cadre these days? he throws a 'shabiya" word in every comment even if the topic is about the rumour of the impending CUD leadres release. Go Figure!

Above anonym:

You are absolutely right. Shabia is a word used by TPLF Cadre as a deflection to stir the dircetion of the discussion to his favor, we have learned this in many occasion. Even in TPLF meetings some of the TEGEREANS mention Shabia in order to deflect the real agenda. I too have noticed that, thanks for bringing this important issue to our attention.

I also would like to share one more thing I noticed about TPLF Cadres, they always argue with passion when we call for military confrontaion. They would like us to remain non-active. I don't know how a struggle can be won without a certain level of violence. No where in history freedom has been gained by conducting a non violent struggle. The only case is India, and there was violence in India at the same time the case and the timing was so different, because British was recoiling at the time, she was letting every colony go.

A simple question for TEGBAR. Considering the fact that you are asking for civil disobedience, also considering the fact that the U.S. is the MAJOR supporter of the Ethiopian Government, why don't you have civil disobedience right here in the U.S. Why not? Oh I forgot, that would mean you will risk getting arrested. Having a record and being imprisoned. You can't do that can you? Because you are a hpocrite who wants Ethiopians to face the government with all its guns and bullets but YOU don't have enough courage to face the D.C. police department and being imprisoned for one night. Hypocrites and Parasites. You will not win. Your lies are there for all to witness. Cowardly hypocrites AKA D.C. cab driving DRUNKS.

The Tplf regime will never rest until it transferred all the crimes it unleashed on the people to Kinijit leaders to make them out of politics. It is a shame on the part of the Americans for attempting to save the Tplf against the Ethiopian peoples wish. The Ethiopian people trust thier leaders will never fall in to Tplf regime's trap. As our wise leader Proffessor Mesfin said " The so called "mediation" is not real mediation". We must denounce any attempt to attack our struggle. OUR LEADERS MUST BE REALEASED WITHOUT ANY PRECONDITION.

Hey tegbar guys!!! stop thinking that you can get to power by asking the poor ethiopians to block roads and face armed soliders who are ready to shoot at them. as far as i am concerned you are no different than the TPLF or the Dergue. you know it is easy for you to sip your coffees in the starbucks coffee shops and ask people to go get killed. if you love the people of ethiopia why don't you get a plane ticket now and fly to addis and pay the sacrifice yourselves, because that shows us that you are good leaders. otherwise just SHUT UP and find another job and work 16 hours a day, that should lower your thirst for blood. and you know what "YOU SUCK"
