Lidetu's third non-sense

There is no politician like Lidetu Ayalew in Ethiopia. In any other country, he would have been laughed out of court donkey's years ago. But our patience runs so deep into our bones that we shrugged off his stupidity even when he asked the Prime Minister why his economic report consisted only GDP growth while "not mentioning" growth in per capita income. So much for intellectual accountability.

So last week he was at it again; dropping off concepts he clearly didn't understand. Yeah, yeah, yeah..be ready for the third way. Somewhere, somehow, Lidetu has heard/read Anthony Gidden's political theory...and Blairism. Too bad he didn't really get it right.
His party(himself) claimed to have embraced a new system of politics, a third way. Addis Fortune quotes their(his) statement:

This new system of working would appreciate the ruling coalition,
EPRDF, when it accomplished positive feats and denounce it when it was involved
in negative ones. ...The party is trying to amend the mistakes that it has
made during its years of struggle and to further strengthen its strong
points.

Genius. After two years of grad school(and in political science no less), Lidetu thinks compromise, tolerance and loyal opposition, pillars of a well-functioning democracy, are his brain children.

ET Z,
you too are surprizing me again and again. It seems to me that you have been expecting some thing good from Kidetuuuu. I would be very happy if you could remove your post about him so that visitors in this site shall not be reminded of him.

Mr.Ledetu is,probably, alarmed about the prospect of his future, given the unpredictablity of present developments. He made a choice ,way back, and we have to leave him with the consequences of his chioce.

I have never seen a stupid person like the so called Lidetu Ayalew. When will he going to learn and stop playing as children of 1 and 2 years old.

The Ethiopian people has moved a long way beyond his imaginations.

Lidetu is a TPLF CC member who got the title without having to go thru killing Ethiopians as TPLF has come to power. He managed to get the TPLF CC Member title by just supporting the TPLF objectives, even though he knows what they are doing is wrong, but he is happy to be receiving a hoodwink from Meles.

I will never forget the statement he made in "Parliament." Lidetu said, he is happy to hear Meles' assertion that Ethiopia has managed to control Somalia in early January. Meles also went on saying, "we managed to kill all the terrorists and we completed the job with very limitted expense and soon we will have all Ethiopians military withdrawn in a week time."

Lidetu was so happy to address the "parliament," even Meles were unable to contain his laughter. Lidetu said, "I am veru happy we accopmlished the Somalia job, I wish there was a permission to express my happiness with jubilation in the "parliament", although its not allowed"

EZ, I am sure you are a capable intellectual in econometics and can churn out economic figures like there is no tomorrow. But let us deal with your commentary piece by piece.

Parliamentarian Lidetu asked why per capita income is not included in the report? That the report only included GDP. And? I mean what is your point? Gross Domestic Product and Per Capita Income are two different things. Having ABSOLUTE growth in GDP does not equate to an EQUIVALENT growth in Per Capita Income. Thus, if one wants to accentuate (highlight) the positive in the economy, ONE MAY STATE GDP'S GROWTH WITHOUT MENTIONING ITS IMPACT ON INCOME--PER CAPITA--TAKING THE POPULATION AS A WHOLE. A VERY LEGITIMATE QUESTION. INTELLECTUALLY, NO INCONSISTENCY.

With regards to his statement about praising EPRDF when needed and cricising when necessary is a worthhwile statement. It is you who is unable to see the importance of such a statement in a country that IDIOLIZES EXTREMISIM. AS SIMPLE AS IT SOUNDS IT IS THE ONE IMPORTANT THING MISSING IN ETHIOPIAN POLITICAL DISCOURSE--A SENSE OF BALANCE. EZ, UNKNOWINGLY, YOU ARE PART AND PARCEL OF THAT EXTREME CULTURE AND AS THE SAYING GOES, THE ROAD TO HELL IS PAVED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS. YOUR TIRELESS EFFORTS ARE PAVING THAT ROAD.

What is your proof that Lidetu is the CC of TPLF? I do not like what he is doing, but your arrogance and false labeling make me puke.

Lidetu Ayalew cheated the country, he deceived he people who voted for him long with CUDP. When Meles declared war on Ethiopia Lidetu Ayalew took side with TPLF. He was elected riding the CUDP wave and immediately he betrayed the people ellected him. He went into the fake TPLF controlled parliament to ligitimize TPLF. That is the ultimate betrayal in the 20th Ethiopian century. He is the Judas of Ethiopia. Hailu Shawel is the God like figure who was betrayed and sent to jail. He is an honest politician, being honest in the house of TPLF is a crime. One has to be slik and slimy to get along with TPLF little vampires.

Ledetu Ayalew is a Tplf spy. He was first recrutied by Bereket Semon in Lalibela during Tplf's armed struggel time. After Tplf entered Addis, he was assigned to be planted in the opposition and inform and weaken it from within. He has been a kind of double agent. He naively predicted the opposition wouldn't get more than 80 seats in the election. His assesment was exactly the same as Tplf's. he was surprised by the outcome and started to hijack and confuse the opposition. Finally his true color emerged. Now he is a dead fish and doesn't have any future in Ethiopian politics no matter what he does. Melles has more chance than Ledetu. He became so desperate that he stood up and clapped his hand when Melles declared "Mission Accomplished" for his foolish blunder in Somalia. By the way there are so many Ledetu's disguised as opposition in the diaspora.

EZ,
You are doing a good job.

This is for the above anon TPLF Cadrie, who obviously misunderstood the GDP - like Lidetu:

GDP (GNP), is one of the ways for measuring the size of a country's economy. The GDP of a country is defined as the market value of all final goods and services produced within a country per year and per head. As we all know Ethiopia has a GDP (GNP) of $100 per head that is among the lowest of the world.

This is the sad story of our country. That is $100 per every person of Ethiopia. Developed countries have more than $20000 GDP per head.

A poor country like Ethiopia, under Zenawi, spent $1 million per day from 1998 to 2000 for the sensless border war with Eritrea. It is estimated Ethiopia is spending $750 thousand / per day in Somalia since December of 2006.
The perception among naive Ethiopians is that USA is helping to finance the war. False. USA can only give money in the form of loan but not handout for war. In other words poor Ethiopians will be on hook to pay for the war systematically.

Weyanes!....Answer the question of one of the anon....Didn t Meles say that the troops will be out of somalia within few weeks....Didn t you tplfs and the weyane variety of lidetus fungus claim this was not an insurgency like irak....even if it wasnt, isn t it becoming one?...Bush too was clear....oooh we go in irak, we sweep the land in 6 days and called it mission accomplished...What a joke!....Most of the US casualities came after he declared victory...Usa did not expect to stay in a warzone until now, they hoped by now , some kind of governing structure would be established....but no What was little pockets of resistance from saddams republican guard quickly switch to full scale insurgency because of foreign fighters and donors ect....What in hell makes weyane beleive that it would be different in somalia....these things take time but fighting an insurgency is impossible....meles and tgf ruthless brutal sweeps in mogadisco wont change anything...What meles did was get in a situation where he cant leave and cant stay in somalia...and make the ethiopian people and somali people pay. Now a Somalia front, by all accounts soon an eritrean front....Weyanes!!!What is your step by step plan to safeguard the people of Ethiopia.....Is there even one?

Lidetu and the like of him is the worst thing that had happened to our country recently. For me they are as responsible as the Mafia is for everything that went bad in our country. Leditu and the other who rent out their face to the Mafia are people who do not have the slightest bit of integrity and they have sold their soul to their highest bidder. Here again he is doing one of his political acrobats trying to deceive voters to get him elected on the next fraudulent election again. I do not understand why he need to do that, while EPRDF and Melese will make sure that he, Lidtu, and people like him are also in parliament no matter how bad he will perform on the coming poll, because they (the Lidetus) are a poster child for the Mafia - a selling point for donors. Lidetu for the Mafias is worth more than the 300 subjects EPRDF:ITEs in the parliament. They are in highly symbiotic relation with Mafia. What a waste!

Anonymous said...

EZ put it right. Kehdetu is getting crazy. The statement he made recently is a simple wisdom in a democratic system. It was not necessary to call a press conference to announce his party´s "leap forward". I think he knows it too. The main issue of this tam tam is to show EPRDF publicly that he is renewing his oath to serve loyally. He mentioned also that his party is suffering from a chronic fund shortage. Ledetu aka Kehdetu, do not be worry about money. As long as you stay in line ,money is there in abundance.

Lidetu Ayalew is a sham figure of Ethiopian politics. He has suffered a lot from the consequences of illitracy and ignorance. What makes me sick is his existence as a human. Why is there is no balancing force to eliminate at least people of his kind....i dont think we are powerless on individuals

Anonymous said...

lidetu is the hero of tolerance, an ethiopian hero. if we had a culture of tolerance and optimism and respect for other's achievement, DO YOU think we will be in this situation for so many decades??? we can ignore our nature and culture of rejectionism or we can accept our problems and change it.
whether we like it or not, what lidetu said was historical and good for our future.

if we keep labeling opposition figures that are not willing to start a riot like CUD, traitors, then hundred years from now, all we would have to talk about is will be a list of traitors instead of heroes.

‘Minds that discuss people’ are not necessarily small unless you considered Lidetu as a useless little brat that we shouldn’t worry about. Books after books are written about individuals. Individuals make the system. And there is no extremism in consistently and tirelessly putting down people like Lidetu. Why would one give him any credit for opening his corrupt and treacherous mind just to appear an intellectual? We have economists within the Ethiopia and all over the world who can raise important questions and answer them but are made strangers in their own country by the corrupt system Lidetu is oiling.

YOU ALL BE QUITE!

KHIDETU AYALEW is a TPLF CC! He joined the TPLF CC camp right at the beginning of June 2005. He was offered a lucrative deal and a bankbook with millions of dollars in his name, so when saw that he said F@#$ to CUDP leadership to legitimize TPLF's fake democracy. Some say, he received $20mil bank account with his name on it. All he has to do is denounce CUDP and he was glad to do it. He also pleased Meles to an embarrassing state when he declared his jubilition with invading Somalia.

Its also believed that Khidetu Ayalew's mother is of Tigre origin, he was heard saying you cannot bite your mother's titts. Figuratively speaking, if it was not for the $20mil bank account Khidetu Ayalew would pimp his own mother for a $1 per session. This character of his is consistent with TPLF CC MEMBERS CORE BELIEF, if you have to pimp your mother for $1 go and do it as long as it gives you advantage. To be admitted into TPLF CC MEMBERSHIP camp one has to have the lowest self respect and has to have no integrity what so ever. Khidetu does qualify with above average score on those requirements.

Lidetu is one of the rare respectable and tolerance oppositions we have in ethiopia.
since he got many votes, we know most ethiopians support him but i think the diaspora should support him too.

lidetu s speech is to divert attention... he is such a traitor , everyone knows it, his weyanes masters know it, the woman that sleeps next to him knows it....What s new???? who is this speech aimed to....Addis ababa people? not a chance...tenkikew yakutal by now....Eprdf? not likely, he has been working with them since the begining and brought them our leaders on a silver platter.....The diaspora? yes...it is my guess that this is a PR move to divert from the quicksands our troops are battling into in somalia. As a treacherous figure, lidetu s interventions, as poor as they may be, stirs up emotions....In the mean time we dont pressure where we should. On the real, we should stay focused on our nation and forget meaningless people like lidetu. his fate is tied to eprdf's...Let s keep pushing for answers on how to get our troops out of a loose loose situation, how to avoid terrorism on our territory, how does meles intend to protect the people of Ethiopia, who is paying for the war in somalia, does he have extensive intel on terrosrist activities, does he have surveillance satellites, does he have hermetic borders, what is the exit strategy....? All those legit questions need answers....You just dont declare war on terror, with that comes responsabilties....If weyanes cant answer that...it only means that they are putting our people in harms way....eventually! terrorism is not a wild beast, it is a strategy, that one can only defeat with a better strategy....in the case of somalia, given the past b/n Ethiopia and somalia, a strategy could have been to empower the somalis to decide for themselves, involve the UN, the EU diplomatically ect...If military operation had became the last recourse then, we should have sealed our southern borders and be ready for whatever they will bring....Dont get me wrong, an ICU led somalia is bad for Ethiopia and somalia, but is worse for USA agenda....so let them deal with it...We could have helped on logistic, but never involve our troops. Now, Do anyone think that mogadisco residents remember ICU, for them the agressor today sadly is Ethiopia. I hate the pretention and arrogance of the weak minded Ethiopians who supported this war bringing the curse of future wars on our kids generation. All those who embraced this foolish war bare responsability. The worse is the contradiction within their minds...They oppose war on irak but support war in somalia....Either they are intellectually dishonest or they are blind. Presenting themselves like the only defenders of Ethiopia's interest, the pro war in somalia always scream saying somalia harbors anti Ethiopian forces, shabya ect.... true enough shabya will do anything to hurt Ethiopia...how should we go about it...invade a country and face so many different enemies already there and adding jihadists enemies from the world who use somalia as a battleground is the worse strategy if one has Ethiopia s long term interest at heart.

I thought Kidetu Ayalew is a pimp, in fact I headr he is a "BUSHTI." All Wolleyes are like Kidetu, they'll betray you before the sun is up. You have to be careful dealing with people like Kidetu. I can't believe there are people who say he is tolerant, tolerant my ass! He is a sellout! He betrayed his coleegues, how does that reflect on one's character? Tolerate my dick while it is penetrating up your ars! I promise it won't hurt, but it'll make you walk funny the next day.

To me, there is nothing new in Lidetu's latest actions. It seems that he has finally realized that the Ethiopian people are on to him and that he cannot continue to deceive them. It is just that his true colors are showing. He has tried for so long to deceive Ethiopians - since his days as a cheap spy in the service of Weyanne in the Mella Amhara Party of Prof. Asrat's - when he falsely incriminated Prof. Asrat saying that the Prof. had the intention of overthrowing the Tplf rule through armed struggle. He also did his usual deception within Kinijit too. So Lidetu has accomplished all he set out to do and is finally asking for his prize reward and join his rightful place among the TPLF.

"Part of the problem is that, in many African nations, democratic politicians have failed to build a base beyond their own ethnic or religious groups. Obasanjo relied primarily on his southern supporters in the previous election. In Ethiopia, Meles Zenawi depends heavily on his Tigray ethnic group. Without a broad-based political party, these leaders simply wind up dividing their nations and sharing political spoils narrowly, often leading to post-electoral violence because the ethnic group out of power feels marginalized."

"Ethnic politics also does little to combat corruption, one reason why democracy has not brought a demonstrable decrease in graft in many African states. "

In the early days (pre-election) of politics Lidetu was labled as "a thorn in the flesh" to the EPRDF government. How everyone was mistaken!
However,Post-election proved him more to be the gushing lapdog of Meles than a rabid watchdog.

The web of tangled deceit he has been weaving began to surface long before he claimed and complained that government security men "broken into" his Party's office.

One wonders how deceitful people like Lidetu get a good night sleep without having a guilty cocious.

I know for sure most of you guys can’t stand for a single issue that help the people of Ethiopia. You are a bunch toothless shouting dogs that just bark continuously. And for that matter most of you are asking Woyane to give you the 150 sq meter land in Addis or other major cites in Ethiopia.

Lidetu Ayalew has every right to express his taught freely. Please don't belittle him. Be Fucken responsible on your comments and don’t try to silence him. Clearly , Lidetu is a full time politician and most of you are Cyber Junkies that hide under your computer and write these tasteless, hooliganistic, SEDADEGE and sad comments for mental mastrubation .

Anonymous said...

When do people stop labeling??? I am not sure, really. By the way, there are three CUD's in Diaspora and they all call each other "woyane". I am not sure if any of them are Woyanes. The trouble in Ethiopia is, when someone does not agree with you, you automatically lable that person. Democarcy tolerates difference... sometimes you need to agree to disagree! I know there has never been Democracy in Ethiopia; but I hope we can learn from other countries about difference in ideas.

I am not sure if Lidetu is or isn't woyane. But I see this labling campaign that was so effective in displaying Lidetu and his party as traitors ("bingo, said Woyane"). Woyane loves this, because this is the tactic they always used "kefafleh Giza". Any way, as Ethiopians, we need to learn how to tolerate opposing ideas. We need to oppose eachother if we ever go forward with democracy. If not, we will get back to governments like Mengistu or Meles (all dictators). Hailu Shawel is never a democartic leader, a reminant of old school politics. We need fresh minds, fresh ideas that can tolerate differences in strategy and opinion. So, please don't be like Mengistu or Woyane!!!
